Recipe Story: Delicious Rounds
I first came across the recipe while I was visiting with a friend back home a short while before Christmas. This friend was in full baking mode, there were plates and plates of goodies, everything from chocolate chip cookies to gingerbread bars to snicker-doodles. As I went around sampling a few of the treats, I came across this one plate that simply took my breath away. On this plate where these petite chocolate balls that appeared so unassuming yet packed serious taste punch. They consisted of a few simple ingredients, milk chocolate, PB, confection sugar, rice krispies and butter. So simple and so pure was the taste, I knew I had to get the recipe. Thus here it is for all to see and re-create, with a small change in the type of chocolate used: 2 cups PB, 3 cups rice krispies, 1 stick melted butter, 16 oz. confection sugar. Mix first 4 ingredients into roll into 1 1/2" balls and place on cookie sheet; in a double boiler melt semi-sweet chocolate and coat balls. Let harden on cookie sheets lined with wax paper. One batch makes approximately 48 rounds. These delicious rounds are sure to please; every holiday there are yelps of joy when they are received by my family & friends!
